WHAT I SAY "PROFESSIONALLY"

I am an ordained minister in the American Baptist Churches USA sharing in ministry, experiences, and "W"ork with all who seek a more loving, liberated, just, equitable, peace-filled, and inclusive word.

As one who believes that the Divine Spirit is revealed through human relationships I find my greatest joy in serving inclusive communities, guiding ceremonies grounded in love, and ritualizing the many life transitions that celebrate and honor the wholeness of our humanity and that remind us of what it means to be fully alive.

I currently serve as the Senior Minister of Fountain Street Church in Grand Rapids, Michigan, where I have been part of the ministries since 2018.

As a progressive minister I care deeply about issues of justice, inclusion, and belonging, and have hinged my ministry on a transition sweeping through contemporary religious institutions that is moving away from metrics of belief and behavior towards paradigms of inclusive belonging.

As I always say, if you really want to know about me and the heart of my ministry, I can offer it to you in seven simple words: "Live Fully. Help Others Do the Same."

WHAT I SAY "PERSONALLY"

I live a rich and full life alongside my husband, Jonathan, in the midst of a Beloved Community of friends, family, and colleagues who share together with Holy imagination of the world we know could be, should be, and must be. Beyond ministry within the walls of "the church," I am enriched and fed by time with Jonathan and our two dogs - Olive and Leo - traveling, the woods, fitness, and music. As a classically trained musician, it was music that first brought me into ministry, and continues to be a connecting thread for our home among family and friends. While we deeply love traveling abroad and finding beauty and joy in places and spaces beyond our own, we proudly admit that Michigan is our Home, and you might never find two bigger cheerleaders than us as we champion for the Home we love.
